Twins Update

It's been a crazy Christmas for us this year. We spent Christmas eve at my parents' house this year and had a great night although I started feeling kind of crappy by bedtime. I was able to sleep a few hours through the night but I woke up about every hour feeling like I was having indigestion. I woke Tyler up at about four and we finally decided to call the on call doctor and see what they thought we should do. She recommended we go to Mckay-Dee hospital because first it was closer to my parents and second because they don't take 32 week old twins at Logan Regional. (No one ever told me this till then). We were expecting the doctor to tell me to just relax and hopefully the contractions would go away, so I got pretty nervous when she told me this. Anyway we made it to the hospital and they did all sorts of tests and gave me all sorts of shots. (not fun) The doctor they assigned me to thought that the babies would most likely be born within 48 hours and he was just hoping they would be able to get the couple of shots I needed to help their lungs develop. Luckily though I was able to hold out for a few days and now I'm being watched in the postpartum area of the hospital which I'll most likely stay in till I have these little ones. I'm still getting contractions but they are giving me drugs to keep them at bay for as long as possible. Right now they are about ten minutes apart. I'm going to have the longest labor ever! I'm hoping I can last a couple more weeks for the sake of these little ones but I'm also going pretty insane in the four walls of this hospital room. We're just praying that they will be healthy and that my body can hang on for a little while longer to give them the best shot when they are born. Thanks for all the prayers and concern we've already received. We are lucky to have wonderful family and friends support right now!

20 Week Ultrasound pics!

I thought this was a really cool foot shot of our little boy.

Profile shots. The little boy is the first one and the
little girl is below. Poor guy was getting his face smooshed
in the top shot so it's hard to see him good.

Here's the gender shots of both of them.
It's pretty easy to tell the difference.

I finally got these scanned in! I had to use Tyler's printer at school because ours is a piece of junk. These pics are 7 weeks ago at my 20 week ultrasound. We kind of already knew that it was a boy and a girl because I had an appointment with my doc the week before and he was fairly positive it was one of each. Although the ultrasound machine he was using was from the dark ages and the 20 week ultrasound was with my other doctor with a better machine. We were so thrilled when we found out we were having one of each. I actually thought it was going to be two boys but Tyler thought it would be a boy and a girl. Nobody really thought it would be two girls. Although at my appointment the doctor said he didn't see any little boy parts at first. Tyler's face was priceless when he said that. He looked terrified! It was pretty funny. I don't think he realized how much he wanted at least one boy till he said that.
Our little girl seems to be much more active that our little boy. I wonder if they will have similar personalities when they're born. It's pretty fun to watch my stomach when they are really active. It looks like I have aliens moving in my belly! We can't wait to meet our little aliens!

Baby Updates!!

The baby bump at about about 23 weeks.

This is really all I have set up in the nursery,
but I think they look pretty cute. I got the bedding
on sale at Pottery Barn Kids and Tyler picked out
the cribs (he's pretty proud). I'll put more pics
on here when I get it decorated a bit more.

Yes I know it's been a really long time since I've updated this lame-o blog so I'm trying to make up for it. In my defense our hard drive crashed and took all of our pics and programs with it so I've been trying to get everything set up again so I can put pics on here again. I'm still trying to figure out how to get out scanner to work so I can post some ultrasound pics but haven't figured that out yet.
As far as the pregnancy updates, I'm now almost 27 weeks along but I'm feeling like I should be further than thay. My doctor said that I'm basically two months ahead in size because I'm holding two. (That would make me about eight months along) Oh and I don't think I ever announced on here what we're having. I can't believe I forgot that. For those of you who don't know we're having a boy and a girl. It's actually just what we we're hoping for so we we're thrilled when we found out. The babies are looking healthy so far. The little girl is sure more active that the little boy. She likes to kick really hard already! They said that the little boy will be born first if they are positioned correctly so he'll be older.
I haven't been feeling awesome lately. (I'm going to complain for a small paragraph just a warning) I can't sit for longer than an hour and I can't stand for longer than an hour, so I constantly getting up and walking around or the opposite. Sitting through 3 hours of church nearly kills me. If I lay a certain way and then get up a nerve in my back shoots down my spine. Sleeping is really uncomfortable, my gums bleed every time I brush, and my hands and feet are really hot and starting to swell. There that's my gripe for the week. I know it will all be worth it though and I can't wait to meet these little babies!! Just a couple more months!!

Catching Up!! Halloween!

Jim and Pam joined us on Halloween for soup
a nice visit.

Yes I know it's wrong on many levels, but we thought
it was pretty funny. I was really embarassed walking
through Macy's with these costumes on. Tyler said we
couldn't smile in the pic so that's why we look so stupid.

This is my pumpkin all lit up. I ended up having to
work on it by myself because Tyler's carving time
was about 10 minutes. It was pretty relaxing though.

Yeah my belly is already about the size of my
pumpkin and my face is quickly approaching
the same size.

Now you know why it only took him
10 minutes to carve his.

We had a good time this Halloween. Zach and Amy, Andrew and Hannah and Tyler's parents'
came over for soup and bread bowls, and Tyler's parents' were nice enough to help pass out candy while we got food. We had quite a nice turn out of kids this year. Our neighborhood is pretty perfect for little kids to go trick-or-treating, unlike our neighborhood last year which I didn't even like going outside after dark. I can never buy that much candy again because I got some bad headaches from the leftovers I inhaled. All in all a good Halloween though!!

Great Things Come in "Pairs"!

Well, pretty much everyone already knows our exciting news, but for those who don't WE"RE HAVING TWINS! We could not be more thrilled and we already can't wait till they're here. I'm just about 13 weeks along and I'm already starting to take the shape of a whale. I guess this is a best excuse there is to gain a big belly though. I think I'm just starting to get over the really sick phase which is good because for awhile there I couldn't figure out how people do this more than once. We won't know if they're boys girls or one of each for a bit. They are not identical though so we could be lucky and get one of each! I'll try to be better about updating my blog now that we have something fun to update everyone about.

Paint, Paint, Paint!

This is what our living room looked like before we started painting.
My mom thought the color looked like the bottom of a swimming pool.

Andrew and Tyler working hard.

My Uncle Brian and Aunt Yolanda were so nice to come and help.
Brian got all of the really tough spots. (That ladder is on the stairs)

My mom and dad really helped a lot!
Thanks again everyone who helped out.
It made the daunting job much less daunting.

Since we finished painting, Tyler and I (well mostly me) have been having fun decorating. It's much more fun to decorate when you have you're own home to decorate in rather that an apartment, which is all we've have had till now. We have a lot of projects we're going to try to get to this Summer. Unfortunately we won't be able to put in a sprinkler system and lawn until next Summer because of money, but there are plenty of other projects to keep us busy. I think our next purchase will be a grill, so we can invited friends and family up for a housewarming BBQ!
I couldn't fit all the pics in one entry so below are pics of what the paint looks like now.

The paint transformation!

This is what are place looks like after the many hours of painting.
We're a little bit more afraid of color than the previous owners.

The new paint color actually goes pretty well with our
cabinets.

We had to buy a new fridge because the owners took theirs.
The salesman at RCwilley really knew how to upsale us. (We're idiots)

We bought a new table and bench at Target for a steal of
a deal, because they were trying to get rid of them so they could put
their spring stuff out. Now we just have to find some good chairs to match.

Here's just another view of the living room. As you can probably tell, I
only have this half of the living room decorated. We haven't moved our
couch up yet but as soon as we move the rest of our stuff I'll show the other
half of the room.

Here's to three years!!

I really can't believe that it's already been 3 years since Tyler and I got married. It's flown by
so fast. We've experienced quite a lot though in those three years, but and I'm glad to say that
I'm just as excited now to be married to Tyler as I was three years ago. I think he's the greatest person alive and he treats me so good even when I'm a jerk. I don't deserve him, but I'm so happy he picked me to be with forever. So here's to three years and many more to come!
Here are a few pictures of our wedding day...

Home Sweet Home!

We bought a home! It's in Nibley, and for those who don't know where Nibley is, it's in Cache Valley. We liked living there so much while going to school that we decided to go back. It has an unfinished basement and an unfinished yard because it's a newer home so we have some work ahead of us but we're really excited to have our own home. We've been spending weekends painting over the ugly blue walls that completely cover the kitchen, living room and dining room, and it's been a lot of work! We'll show some more pictures as soon as we get our paint done!

Beard Man

I can't figure out why guys love growing their facial hair out but Tyler is definitely one of them. Over Christmas he always tries to grow it out because he doesn't have Army Band for that month. This was the result this year. I wouldn't let him keep the bottom one for more than a day because he looked like a dirty criminal.

P90X Workout Begins!

Tyler and I have decided that it's time for us to get back into shape, so we're jumping on the P90X bandwagon and we're going to start tomorrow morning. Yes I know what you're thinking... everyone says they are going to start a workout/diet program tomorrow or on Monday, but we're feeling motivated this time. We took some before pictures a couple of days ago and we both about had a heart attack. Seeing yourself in very little clothing in bad lighting after staying away from pictures for the past year is not so fun. We've both gained a significant about of weight since we got married mostly because we've gained each others bad habits and lost our good ones, and partly because we've both been under a lot of stress the past year or so. Excuses aside thought, tomorrow morning we begin our workouts. I've been anxious to try these videos because I see the commercials for them all the time and it looks like it's worked for a lot of people. I'll try to update our blog with our results. There will probably not be any our our before pics posted though:)
