Halloween

The Putnam families going for movie themes this year.
Poor Zoe wasn't loving her costume.

My fam just missing Adam and Alex.

Buddy the Elf, Jovi Elf and their little baby elves.

Our Halloween party was a success this year. We had yummy soup and all sorts of good eats and enjoyed hanging out with family. We're going to try to expand this party next year and invite more people and have more activities. Thanks to my mom for bringing all sorts of good stuff and helping out with the kiddos ALL night. Thanks mom. I guess it's time to get ready for the next holiday... CHIRSTMAS! oh wait I forgot about THANKSGIVING!! Poor Thanksgiving gets overshadowed by Christmas. Hooray for Thanksgiving coming up soon!!

Fall

I love this picture. The kids were not happy this day and
my mom was trying to help out while I took senior pics of my sister.

Playing in grandmas pretty yard.

Fall is the perfect season. Not too hot, not too cold (except recently in Utah), the colors make it beautiful, you can start wearing cozy sweaters and jackets, it smells good outside especially on Halloween, and you can buy candy in very large bags at the store! I just wish it lasted till the end of November and then winter can start December 1st and only last till February 1st. I am looking forward to this Christmas season, though, it will be the first Christmas that Tyler and I aren't working at the Post Office, which is very nice. Although there are a few things that I actually will miss about that. The extra money for starters, beautiful Park City and of course shopping at the Outlets. Oh well this year I want to spend as much time with family as possible and perhaps make some new traditions with our two new additions this year. It will be the first Christmas for the twins, and even though they won't remember it or even be able to get excited about much of it I still can't wait. I'm not going to say what our family is going to be for Halloween this year but I will post pictures soon. A little hint though we'll be able to use them again for Christmas! We are having a little costume party this Friday with mostly family (although any friends who read this you are welcome to come). We had a little one last year and ate soup and bread bowls so we are keeping up the tradition this year.

The babies are sick right now and it's been a struggle for everyone. I hate when something like this is out of my control and my babies are just miserable. I took them to the doctor yesterday and no ear infections, or anything too serious but the doctor still wrote a prescription for antibiotics. Am I weird for not wanting to give them those unless we know for sure there is an infection?? I think docs over do it with just giving those out. Hopefully I'm not being a bad momma, but I'm going to give them a couple more days and see if they improve before I resort to that. They are both crawling now although in very different ways. Ezra is an Army crawler and I don't think he's ever going to figure out the faster way to get around, and Zoe is the traditional knee crawler. They switched places recently and Ezra is now the harder of the two. He is so needy (wonder who he got that from), he starts crying when I hold Zoe, or even change her diaper. At first it was sort of cute but now it's just annoying and exhausting for me. Zoe is pretty content to just play on her own and she's it a little more easily entertained. They both really want to explore every corner of the house and get into everything, which I know is a good thing developmentally but it becomes a lot more work for me. Don't get me wrong though these two bring me so much joy and fun and I feel so much more fulfilled now, but there are definitely days where I really sleeping in, or just relaxing when I'm not feeling good.

Wrap it up Alyssa....Hope you all have a Happy Halloween!!

Teeth!!!

These two rascals are keeping us awake again! They are both getting their two bottom teeth and it's been a struggle the past few weeks. Just when I thought we had figured out the whole sleeping through the night thing this completely ruined our little schedule. Perhaps someday I'll be able to sleep through the night with no interruptions. That is for sure the thing I miss the most since having these two.

They are both so close to crawling, but haven't quite figured it out yet. They will get up on their hands and knees and rock but they don't move forward. I know they will figure it out soon enough, I just get a little annoyed when people ask me if they are crawling yet and seem surprised that they aren't. Technically they aren't 8 months if you take into account they were more than a month early. A lot of people tell me that my life will never be the same once they start crawling because they will be getting into EVERYTHING! I like keeping my house fairly clean so I'm going to have a hard time letting them discover and make big messes.
I talk so much about the babies lately just because it's taken over my entire life, but there is also someone else in my life that I enjoy talking about. THE HUBBY! Tyler turned 30 on the 26th of September! I feel bad we didn't really celebrate as much as I wanted to because we were out of money and we were on a diet, but I'm still planning on throwing a celebration in the form of a birthday/Halloween party near the end of October! If anyone has any fun ideas for things to do or eat I'd love to hear them. I'm not to good at throwing parties so we shall see. I'm going to try to put up a video of Ty making the twins giggle. He is so good with them. They both light up when he walks in the door after work. I know he is going to be the favorite:) Especially with Ezra. Doesn't seem fair...I carried them for 8 months, had contractions for 3 weeks straight in the hospital, got about a billion stretch marks, and I'm up with them all night, and they love him more:) Oh well I'm glad that he is such a good daddy.

See there I go somehow I got back to the subject of the kiddos. I think I need a night out without the kids. It's just not as fun to go on a date since we started this diet. Eating was always central to our dates. I guess that's why we had to go on a diet though. I never realized how much I love carbs. Forget about meat, give me carbs any day! Lately I watch all the cooking shows on the food network because just looking at all the good food sometimes is enough for me. I don't know why, it's weird. Food and babies that is what occupies my thoughts these days.

Don't you love how cheesy these grins are? It cracks me up, especially since their eyes disappear. Love it!

Drool Babies

This summer is coming to a close and it's actually been a pretty enjoyable, relaxing one for Tyler and I. Tyler was able to go to Morocco and southern Utah with the Army Band and he had a great time. We've gotten quite a few projects done around the house, except for the yard of course but hopefully next summer or spring we'll finally attack that project. I finally bought the camera I've been dreaming of the past few years and I've been having lots of fun with it although I have a lot to learn still. I've even had the time finally to catch up on some of the movies that I didn't have a chance to see after the babies arrived. Ezra and Zoe are getting big and I have to say, more enjoyable. Don't get me wrong I love the tiny baby stage but I really didn't like not getting any sleep, it makes me really ornery. I'm finally getting some sleep again although we haven't perfect the sleeping though the night thing, we're getting there.
Ezra and Zoe are drool babies right now especially Ezra. He can soak the entire front of his onesie in less than an hour. He learned how to roll on his tummy and almost never stays on his back anymore. He even prefers sleeping on his tummy and I've given up rolling him over because he never stays hopefully that's okay by six months??? Zoe is our little drama queen and gets mad if she can't reach a toy or get something she wants. She's so demanding, it worries me for those teenage years. I forgive her pretty quickly though as soon as she grins at me because you can't help it, it's so stinkin sweet when she smiles cause she smiles with her entire face. I hope she doesn't use this knowledge against me someday:) I end up going on and on about my kids about details I'm sure only I care about in these posts. Perhaps the next post I try to come up with something other than them. (You can't blame me though when you look at the pictures above.)
